About Travel Insurance Deductibles
Most quotes are for plans with no deductible.
A deductible will lower premiums slightly. However, in most cases the savings is minimal compared to the deductible amount you would pay in case of emergency treatment.
Common deductibles are $250, $500, $1,000 and $5,000.
Please call us toll-free at 1-800-474-4474 if you are interested in a travel insurance plan with a deductible.
How to Apply for VTC Coverage
There are two ways to apply for a Visitor to Canada insurance plan (the premium will be the same regardless of how you apply):
- By Phone: call us and we will walk you through the application. This insures that no mistakes are made and that you are getting the plan that is just right for you.
- Enrol Online: Buy your VTC plan online at the insurance company's web site. You will have to get your quotes again since quotes are a part of their application process.
Generally speaking, any medical condition that existed 180 days before the effective period is considered a pre-existing condition.
To get coverage for a pre-existing condition that condition must be stable, usually for a period of 180 days. The length of stabilization, however, may change depending on the age(s) of the insured and the insurance company providing the Visitor to Canada coverage.
Province of Residence
Please indicate the province or territory where you will be spending most of your trip.
If you are landing at an airport in a certain province but will be staying in another province then please select the province where you will be staying.
We ask this since your destination determines the availability of some visitors plans.
