What sort of medical evidence is required?
Medical evidence is not required for standard group benefit insurance packages
unless the non-evidence limit is exceeded (i.e. a large amount of insurance is
purchased). The non-evidence limit varies from insurance company to
company and is approximately $1500/month for Long Term Disability and
$50,000/per person for life insurance. Generally speaking, the larger the
group the higher the non-evidence limit.
What payment options for group
insurance are available?
You can either have your insurance company bill you monthly or set up a
pre-authorized payment plan. The availability of a pre-authorized payment plan
varies by insurance company and the size of the group.
Which insurance
companies can I purchase employee benefits from?
We are a full-fledged broker, and as such can quote from all leading Canadian
insurance companies that offer group benefits.
The following are just some of these leading carriers. Note that we can
only process quotes within 24 hours for ManuLife Financial and Empire Life.
• Manulife Financial
• Empire Life
• Blue Cross
• Canada Life
• Great West Life
• Desjardins Financial
• National Life
• Standard Life
• Sun Life
How soon can my employee
benefits coverage start?
Coverage usually commences on the first day of the next month, provided a
cheque for the first months premium has been received and all enrollment
and application forms have been approved.**
What
happens if I receive two group insurance quotes and want to purchase online?
If you submit more than one Quick Quote then you will need to confirm
with one of our brokers which plan you want to go with before purchasing
online.
How do I know if my data is being encrypted?
When obtaining a Quick Quote or purchasing benefits online your
browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator) should display a lock in
the bottom right-hand corner. When SSL (Secure Sockets Layer, which
provides the encryption) is being utilized this lock will be closed (i.e.
locked).
** Under no
circumstances should you cancel any existing insurance policy until you
have received written approval from your new insurance carrier.
